What is the cost of a mystery?

A.

The cost for our murder mystery entertainment is usually in the $30-$50 per person range. The cost depends on the number of guests you have at your gathering and whether you'd like the production or party format. An exact cost will be quoted to you once you provide event details.

What is the Production Format?

A.

Our Production Format is like going to see a play only you choose the date, time and place and we bring the play to you. A full team of actors and actresses will be on site to entertain.

What is the Party Format?

A.

Our party format is created specifically for you. It requires fewer actors and is generally a lower cost because we accuse a few of your guests of the crime. We customize the murder mystery around you, your guests and the purpose of your event. If you are having a themed event we will write the mystery for that theme. There are many themes to choose from. You have one chance to make a great impression with this event. Your guests are important. The fact that they have a great time falls on your shoulders. If you book with Whodunnit for Hire you'll be able to relax. We will take your event very seriously and will expertly handle all the logistics. Will you help promote our mystery?

How does a mystery proceed?

A.

In most cases a murder mystery party with Whodunnit for Hire lasts three hours. We do not provide food, however we realize that most mysteries are coordinated around a dinner. Kindly use this example timeline to coordinate your event:
06:00 Doors Open for Welcome Reception and Mingling
06:45 Salads Pre-set, Guests Seated, Brief Opening Remarks
07:00 Mystery Begins with Dead Body Scene
07:30 Entrée Served followed by Interrogations
08:30 Desserts Served followed by Wrap-Up, Curtain Call and Awards
09:00 End of Mystery, Guests Break as Actors Collect Props, Break-Down and Vacate
09:15 Evening could continue with Casino Tables, Dancing, Company Awards, Etc.

What is included with the entertainment?

A.

Whodunnit for Hire includes everything but food. This includes, but may not be limited to, personalized pdf invitations, photography services, event management, waitstaff coordination, backdrop and Crime Scene Tape, speakers and microphones, awards and prizes, notebooks and pencils, pdf program cover and inside page (if a fundraiser), costumes and props, mystery mood music and more. You will not have to bring anything for your guests for the murder mystery portion of the event. You take care of the food. We'll take care of the entertainment.

What is the Booking Policy?

A.

Obtain several hundred, small, unmarked bills and call us. We will then disclose the drop off point; it will likely be behind a dumpster. No? Okay, the boring way is to pick a date and time. We will confirm it with an invoice. Once it is paid, your date is confirmed.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

A.

We don't like to cancel. We hate it actually. Without a doubt, it is our least favorite thing EVER. Okay, but if you've got no choice and you really want to see us cry we do have a policy... Cancellation within thirty days will result in loss of payment. You may change the date of your mystery with thirty or more days notice. There is no penalty for rescheduling due to inclement weather.

Will we incur other costs?

A.

Yes. We ask that you include the Whodunnit for Hire actors in your meal count and provide parking for their vehicles.

How many people can be at my murder mystery party?

A.

You may have as few as ten guests or as many as four hundred guests at your event.

Where do you perform?

A.

You choose the location in Maryland, Washington DC, northern Virginia or southern Pennsylvania. We come to you.

Could I see a show?

A.
