This murder mystery will be customized to your event and will be a family friendly comedy. The focus is on the fun suspects, understanding their crazy clues and solving whodunnit. The point is to have your guests laughing from the moment we begin. There will be no mistaking this for an actual crime scene and your guests will not ever be confused or frightened at any time. Our focus is to make you look good. They will be singing your praises for organizing such a fun event.
|HOW DOES THE EVENT PROCEED?|
Picture this... your guests are seated. They are chatting and enjoying one another's company when suddenly a stranger comes into the party and falls to the floor dead. Oh my! That turns the party into a crime scene and your guests are told they may not leave the premises. An investigation will take place and your guests will be asked to help. But whodunnit? Was it one of the wait staff? A stranger? Perhaps one of your friends!? Your guests will be the armchair detectives searching for clues, interrogating suspects and, of course, having an amazing time.
Whodunnit for Hire includes everything to operate the successful murder mystery entertainment. You will be able to sit back, relax and solve whodunnit with the rest of your guests. We will handle it all including coordinating with the wait staff, giving instructions to your guests, and ensuring that the event flows smoothly. We bring our own audio equipment (if it is not provided by the establishment). We bring a backdrop, mystery mood music, crime scene tape, notebooks and pencils, props and costuming, awards and prizes, and more.
We will take complete responsibility for keeping your guests laughing and entertained.
We also create a PDF invitation or announcement for your event to get your folks excited.
Additionally, we will take several photographs during the mystery party and will share a link with your guests so that they may download, save and share those photos for free.

Do you want to keep this event a surprise? Love it! Yes. You may do that. It is entirely your choice.
You also have the honor of choosing your own dead guy. This role is very easy and fun and is the star of the show (albeit a quiet star). We recommend that you ask the boss or the most recognized person at the event. He or she will return after their big dying scene as themselves and try to solve whodunnit with their friends. They will not miss a thing and we are not killing off them, just a role they are playing for us.
|HOST A THEME PARTY|
Are you intending to throw a theme party? That's wonderful. We'll write the mystery around your theme and you may encourage your guests to come in costume or appropriate attire. We have several ideas on our THEME IDEAS PAGE.

You should plan on three hours for your event with the first 45 minutes available for guest arrivals and mingling. Perhaps you will want to offer hor d'oeuvres or cocktails. This is your choice. The next fifteen minutes is for seating and any announcements you wish to make. The final two hours is for the mystery dinner. While we do not include food, our mysteries are written assuming that you will be enjoying a two or three course meal or two course buffet.
Example Timeline 6:00 Doors Open for Guest Arrivals and Mingling 6:45 Salads Pre-Set, Guests Seated, Announcements 7:00 Mystery Begins with Dead Body Scene, Silly Photos 7:30 Entrees Served followed by Interrogations 8:30 Desserts Served followed by Wrap-Up, Curtain Call and Awards 9:00 End of Mystery (will take us 15-20 minutes to break-down and vacate) 9:30 Evening Could Continue with other Announcements, Awards, Etc.
PRICING & PACKAGE OPTIONS
The Party Format
The way we handle murder mysteries is called The Party Format. This is not like seeing a production of actors and actresses performing a play. This is an activity customized specifically for you, your event and your guests. The mystery will be all about YOU not us. Your employees or guests will be the ones accused of the crime and trying to solve it. They will be the detectives and suspects immersed in the activity. We act as event coordinators and keep the guests informed and keep the storyline moving forward. Some have described it like being in a live version of the board game CLUE or in the middle of a Sherlock Holmes story. It has also been described like solving puzzles in an Escape Room only we bring the puzzles to you.
The number of our mystery makers (Whodunnit for Hire staff) on site directly correlates to the number of guests anticipated at your event. This determines your cost. The more guests at your party…the higher overall cost but the lower per person cost. The minimum cost is $1250. And yes, everyone in the room must be included in the guest count because everyone will be included in the activity. If you want a fewer number of participants, they will have to be in a separate room. Your guests will not be required to play but we need to assume prior to arrival that everyone will play (and we've been doing this long enough to know that everyone is probably going to play).
